Development of Summerlin real estate started in 1990
by Howard Hughes Corporation on 36 square miles along western Las
Vegas. Today there are nearly 95,000 residents. Summerlin is home to
the world-class Nevada Cancer Institute and Station Casino's $925
million world-class resort, Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa. Summerlin
has more than 100 parks, more than 120 miles of trails, and 9 golf
courses. The community's recreation infrastructure is complemented by
more than 20 public and private schools, more than a dozen houses of
worship, shopping centers, business parks, and medical facilities,
along with homes built by 15 different home builders.
There are
30 villages planned for Summerlin, of which 17 are in varying stages of
development. Each village has its own park, golf course or other major
amenity, along with its own distinctive style of architecture and
design, evident in streetscapes, landscaping and village walls. Within
each village there are thoughtfully planned neighborhoods with a wide
variety of apartments, condominiums, townhomes, and single family home
villages. The variety of housing provides plenty of options for
